Generali Foundation hosts field trip, dinner

The Margaret M. Generali Foundation will sponsor a field trip to the Palace Theater for seven elementary school classes in Waterbury on Friday to see Junie B. Jones.

The trip is in memory of Amy DeLucia, a former reading supervisor who died in August. She was an avid supporter of reading and arts and a close friend and colleague of the late Margaret M. Generali.

The teachers’ classes that have been chosen to attend are: Lucia Sheetz, Driggs School; Michele Brittingham, Barnard School; Pia Behlman, Carrington School; Amy McKay and Melissa Knorr, Sprague School; Angela Razza, Brooklyn School; and Mary Grimshaw, SS. Peter and Paul School. All classrooms have received Junie B. Jones books to read in preperation for the show.

Also the annual Foundation Dinner will be held May 28 at the Hills Restaurant. Honored at the dinner will be this year’s grant recipients.

They are: Lenore Gagain and Jennifer Dwyer, Margaret M. Generali School; Christine Mead, West Side Middle Schools; Lisa Ieronimo, Maureen McCasland and Kathy McKeenman, Barnard School; Fernando Silva and Maria Jimenez, Washington School; Leta Cybart, Blessed Sacrament School; and James Geary and Mary LaBarbera, St. Mary School.
